Build, Lead, and Scale an Electrical Department in Middle Tennessee
Busy Bee Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electrical is growing fast because we hire great people and our customers feel the difference. With 40+ trucks on the road and 60+ employees, we’re one of the most recognized home service teams in the region.
We’re looking for an Electrical Service Manager who can lead from the front—recruiting and developing top talent, partnering with dispatch and customer service teams to deliver a 5-star experience, and building a high-performing electrical department that wins in the Middle Tennessee market.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
Leadership & Team Development
Recruit, hire, onboard, and train electrical field technicians
Coach performance through ride-alongs, ongoing training, and clear accountability
Build a culture of safety, craftsmanship, and professionalism
Set the daily tone, pace, and standard for the department
Operations & Dispatch Partnership:
Work closely with dispatch to ensure the right technician is matched to the right call
Improve department efficiency by reducing callbacks, improving completion rates, and maximizing schedule effectiveness
Support field execution with strong processes, tools, and clear expectations
Customer Experience & Quality:
Ensure technicians deliver an exceptional customer experience on every call
Handle escalations with professionalism and urgency
Raise quality standards so customers request your techs by name
Performance & Growth:
Drive department goals (revenue, gross margin, close rate, average ticket, reviews, callback reduction)
Lead daily/weekly performance huddles and track KPIs
Identify growth opportunities across the Middle Tennessee service area and help scale headcount as demand rises
What Success Looks Like (First 90–180 Days):
Hiring and onboarding pipeline established for electrical techs
Clear service standards and training rhythm in place
Improved schedule efficiency and reduced rework/callbacks
Noticeable lift in customer satisfaction, reviews, and department consistency
A team that knows the expectations—and hits them
Desired Skills & Experience:
Proven leadership experience managing field teams (electrical/service preferred)
Strong coaching ability: you develop people and hold standards without drama
Operational discipline: organized, detail-driven, and consistent
Strong customer-first mindset with the ability to resolve issues quickly
Comfortable with technology and reporting; proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment
Preferred (but not required):
Experience in residential service electrical in a high-volume, branded service company
Familiarity with service dispatch operations, technician scorecards, and performance coaching
Experience hiring and growing a department

Requirements:
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Ability to pass applicable pre-employment screenings
Ability to meet role demands including field support, ride-alongs, and jobsite visits across the Middle Tennessee service area
